House rental increase and IT people

Hello All,
I am just sharing my recent experience in train journey. One co passenger has explained his problem with the house rent. He said that he is paying around 12k for a double bed room flat in Anna nagar and he blamed the IT persons are responsible for the rental increase. I thought that he is working in a manufacturing industry and earning around 3 lac per year and had a pity on him since he has a child (which is one non stop naughty adament all the time and also crying all the time which is a different story altogether)...And he blasted IT guys like anything...In the next morning he distributed his visiting card and it said that he is working as a PL in CSC and his wife in HCL. Shocked..man....For a programmer with 5 years experience in CSC worth 6 lac per year....An earning family of 12-15 lac is bothering to spend 12000 means what????How the people working in MF industry or low salaried people in IT can afford????Folks pls...Dont always blame IT people for all and as a part of IT org. dont blame your own industry persons......Yes we need to agree that the increase is because of IT growth..But now the market is sort of slow down and do u think the owners will decrease the rental because of the slow down..they have different set of audiences like students, bachelors, peoples from other industries who can afford such rents and you cannot always blame IT people for the increase in pencil rate...

What is Virtualization in software testing

Hello all,
I have recently come across a term called " Virtualization" and " Virtualization for Software Testing"..So for that I went through some of the article and one article from Redhat was very good in explaining these terminologies...."Virtualization allows multiple operating system instances to run concurrently on a single computer;it is a means of separating hardware from a single operating system. Each “guest” OS is managed by a Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM), also known as a hypervisor. Because the virtualization system sits between the guest and the hardware, it can control the guests’ use of CPU, memory, and storage, even allowing a guest OS to migrate from one machine to another"............This is the definition....tough to understand ......simple.....For ex...If u want to test a software product in operating systems like Windows XP, vista, Mac, Linux and Unix, then u have to get 5 systems and install an OS in a machine.....so the cost here is very high...for that in the organization, One person uses vista and other person uses Mac and another person uses Linux....U need to create a Guest login in each OS and maintain it from a single machine which will have one software called VMM (virtual machine monitor) with the help of internel network or even accessing with out side network.....with the help of VMM software u can control the memory of all 4 or 5 system and even u can migrate from one machine access to other.....so this is one of the emerging trends in IT across all industries.

Cricketing Shots

Hello All,
This post is for Cricket lovers. I recently came across a shot called "Golf shot " from Yuvraj Singh. So i recollected some of the terms in cricket. Here it is.
1) sweep shot - Exclusively used initially by Mike Gating and reverse sweep also used by him on the initial days.
2) Paddle sweep - Sachin has identified this shot exclusively for Legendry Warne to attack the leg spin.
3) Pull Shot - Used well by Sunny Gavaskar and followed well by Brian Charles lara and now by Ricky ponting.
4) Classic Cover Drive - Sachin,Lara and Dravid are the best players in this shot.
5) Baseball shot - MS dhoni's perfect usage of this shot and entirely different style of batting.
6) Carrom ball grip - Ajantha Mendis has found out this term.
7) Doosra - Used well by Murali and Harbajan
8) Googly - Used well by Warne and Kumble
So please let me know if i missed some thing here.

CRM Software- What is it and the current situation

Hello All,
I had the possibility to read an article in deccan chronicle about the CRM software and current trends...First of all what is CRM software.....Simple example is ICICI bank...Whenever you swipe the card, you will get a message saying your current balance will be this much Rs....ICICI is one of the best example for CRM software not the best for CRM....Any way, the companies around the globe are more focussed towards maintaining the existing relationship with their customers and achieve the customer delight (MBA term).....Since the crisis is peak for now, this area has become one of the key areas for the IT companies to focus with....This is the time for the companies to maintain the existing customer base and get the bottomline business from them....On the other side, Cost cutting is also happening in this area in terms of reducing the licenses stuff and price negotiations...But we need to understand one thing here is for companies always customer is the King and focus should be there despite of crisis and cost cutting.

Bus driver and humanity

Hello All,
When i was travelling from velachery to Tnagar,I happened to see a very good incident. One physically disabled guy asked the bus driver to stop the bus and he was standing on the other side of the road. Bus driver immediately stopped the bus and waited for 5 minutes for that guy and took the bus after the particular passenger boarded....In this fast world, you can't expect the people to have the necessary quality "Humanity"....How many times we have offered our seat to senior people in the bus????I have helped as far as i know...So I have the eligibility to ask the society....And I happened to see some times that the drivers concerned more about the college foot board students....Message -Humanity and helping others are the important factors for any person's life journey including varun's life journey as well.

After Break

Hello All,
Just after a small break due to tight schedule,I am back now. First of all, We need to congratulate the NASA people for the chandraayan and India's Win over Aussies.....It was an emphatic series and the guys fought very hard and came back to get the trophy ...And It was a great effort with respect to Chandrayaan and now people started dreaming about a plot or flat in the moon. And other important thing,Barrack obama has sworn in as the first "colored"(news papers described like this) President for US. It is a very good sign for the world of economy and not for outsourcing. But still we cant conclude bad for outsourcing. I had the possibility to see his presidential speech in CNN....I really admired his way of speech and putting things at front and the essential factor is the motivation "can we ?? yes we can..God bless you...God bless America" He is surely a magical man in delivering his speech but the execution part we need to wait and see...By the by, He gifted a ring to Our PM Dr.Manmohan Singh ...The ring is for establishing the bilateral ties it seems....I dont know....

Strategy and planning

Hello All,
Dont get afraid that the topic is like for Top Management Level discussion in software companies.....I had a chance to hear from an Army person in a train about his experience....He explained about three places like Kashmir,Punjab and Chattisgarh and specifically Naxals in Chattisgarh....They have the strategy like -They have 3 different groups to fight with Army people.....The first group of 100 people will go and attack the Army camp which has some 100 people......In first phase any way with weapons the Army will be in the upper hand and the remaining people in naxal will run away from that place.... with the human psychology Army start chasing them and then the next group of 500 people will attack from 1 km distance....And the third group is exclusively focussed on collecting the weapons from the Army Camp....And their main focus is to attack the land lords and wealthy people in Chattisgarh villages and take money from them....But they are not from robinhood category......So they are selfish and they have the motive to spoil the unity and peace of the country.....Hope you all aware of the Orissa riot started because these naxals killed one swami and created the hype as the christians killed this Hindu swamy......So with all computers super computers lap top ipod and i phone most of the times evil mind of a human being has the upper hand over the good principles....
